Mrs. Martha Shapiro

I have been a teacher for almost 25 years.  My career started in Houston, TX as an ESL teacher.  I taught in an inner-city school for 8 years.  After 8 years, I made the decision to become a stay at home mom while providing daycare for some of my teacher friends.  I was able to stay home for 7 years.  I went back to teaching as a third grade teacher in Klein, TX.  I became homesick for MN (after living in TX for 18 years).  My family and I moved back to Springfield where I taught 6th grade at St. Raphael for 1.5 years, Title 1 in St James for 1.5 years, and a Special Education instructor at Cedar Mountain for 10 years.  I am now back at St. Raphael as a 6th grade teacher.  I am blessed to be at St. Raphael and I am very fortunate for all of the students and staff that have welcomed me back.
